Tishomingo Public Schools brings changes in the teaching of a foreign language, Spanish. We will use the Voces Digital program. It is a complete online resource for Spanish teachers and learners. Our goals are for students to continue to develop their skills through listening, reading, speaking, writing and understanding; learn vocabulary and grammar in context and through exposure to Spanish cultures. Voces Digital was designed by carefully reviewing the ACTFL National Standards and then creating quality content to match those standards.
Spanish I is a course designed to introduce the student to all aspects of foreign language study. Grammar, reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills are included. Cultural information is provided and taught throughout the duration of the course. Students will do research on various cultural topics. Emphasis will be placed on conversation, vocabulary and correct usage of the language. This requires a daily emphasis on listening and speaking. The Spanish course that Tishomingo Public Schools will be using DIFFERENT LEARNING OBJECTS, one of these will be the Voces Digital program. Voces Spanish is an award-winning, highly effective Spanish curriculum for Novice 1st level learners. This standards-based, online program integrates communication and culture in a cohesive, all-in-one format accessible to students and teachers from any device and anyplace. The Spanish Teacher will provide the login and password to the student.
Spanish II is a course designed to give continuity to all the criteria in the study of Spanish at an advanced level. Grammar, reading, writing, speaking and listening skills are included. Cultural information is provided and taught throughout the duration of the course. Students will do research on various cultural topics.
This online program meets the requirements of the SDE-OK World Language Teachers: Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC) and Integrated Performance Assessment (IPA). Voces Digital has been designed by carefully analyzing the ACTFL National Standards
