Kindergarten News
November 1-5, 2021
Dear Family,
A great big THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to our fall celebration, the boys and girls had a GREAT time! It was also a fun Red Ribbon Week! Thanks for helping your child participate in our dress up days! This week is just regular school!! J
Picture Retakes are this Friday, November 5 @ 8am, for students who were absent, or are new to our school.
We completed the Welcome to Kindergarten portion of our reading curriculum and began Unit 1 today. This week we will review letters Kk, Ll, Mm, Nn and Oo, introduce the high-frequency word I, and talk about nouns for people and the main idea of a story.
The Kindergarten classes are participating in the BOOK IT! National Reading Incentive Program. We are also using this program as our AR Incentive for each 9 weeks. Students who returned their completed October log by October 27, participated in “Slime a Teacher” this past Friday. To be eligible for the 2nd 9 weeks reward, students will need to complete and return the November AND December logs by the designated dates.
Thinking ahead… For our Christmas party on Dec. 17th, we will have a “Stocking Party”. We will provide the stockings for the class and ask that any parents who want, can volunteer to send in stocking stuffers (small trinkets, pencils, erasers, toys, party favors, etc.). I am trying to make it as inexpensive and easy as possible for you. As of right now, we have 21 students-10 boys and 11 girls.
