English, Language Arts, and Reading
I graduated from Lakes High School in Tacoma, Washington. But I attended two other high schools, one of which was Tishomingo High School. It was my favorite. The other high school I attended was Lafayette High in Lafayette, Louisiana.
I started college at University of Southwestern Louisiana, now known as University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
I graduated from East Central University in Ada. My husband, oldest daughter, and I are all proud to be ECU Tiger Alumni.
I hold the following degrees: Bachelor of Arts in English, Bachelor of Science in Sociology, and Master of Education with a secondary English emphasis.
I love attending workshops and learning new things!
This is my second year at Tishomingo Middle School, but I taught at Tishomingo High School from 2010 until 2015, when my family moved to Ada.
I started teaching in 1998 and have loved my career in education. I have taught at East Central University, Madill High School, Murray State College, THS, Ada Junior High, and now TMS.
I have been married to my husband, Michael, since 1993. We had our first daughter, Maggie, in 1997 and our youngest daughter, Marianna, in 2009. Michael is a graduate of Tishomingo High School, ECU, and OU. He works as an epidemiologist in the Chickasaw Nation Department of Research and Public Health.
Maggie, our oldest, is a Tishomingo High School graduate. She also graduated from ECU, and she is now a pediatric oncology nurse at St. Francis Children’s Hospital in Tulsa. She is the step-mom to two beautiful kids. I am happy to be a bonus grandmother to Kaitlynn and Camden. And I absolutely adore my daughter-in-law, Amy.
Marianna is going to be an eighth grader at TMS. She plays the trumpet and sings. She is probably one of the smartest people I have ever met, and she is ridiculously funny. We love being her parents!
During quarantine, I decided I needed two puppies, so we have two two-year-old dogs. Maude is a miniature schnauzer, and Loretta is a boxer. They are hot messes. Maude is smart; Loretta is cute. Maude is my favorite. ;)
I love to be outside! Yard work, gardening, and floating in the pool are my favorite things to do at home. I also love to read. Mostly, though, I love to travel and spend time with my people. I have wonderful friends and a wacky family, and we love to do things together.
